Valentine’s Day Tutorial: Heart Tips!

This super cute, suuuuper easy tutorial will be your perfect accessory this Vday. It’s just 2 steps!

1. After applying your base coat, paint 2 thin coats of Essie Fiji. Let dry.

2. Using Sally Hansen Miracle Gel, Pink Cadillaquer, swipe a “half circle” on the right side of your nail. Then do the same on the left side. The key is to do these “swipes” in 1 stroke. Seal the deal with your top coat (as you know by now, mine’s Seche Vite) and VOILA! You’ve got yourself some heart tips!

Nail Art Bar- BOULD 2015 Make Your Mark Event!

Last Sunday I had the absolute pleasure of participating (and working) at BOULD‘s 2015 Make Your Mark Event. As a female entrepreneur, this event was totally up my alley. Per the company’s bio: BOULD is a career platform leading young professional females to success through engaging workshops and events. We teach you how to become a strategic and kick ass negotiator, how to build a personal brand that will accelerate your career, how to lead with confidence and so much more. We also feature inspiring entrepreneurs, writers and executives through panels, and work to give back to nonprofits that are making a difference in the lives of young women.

BAM. I meannnn, could it get any better than that?!

The premise of January’s event was to kick off 2015 with all the tools you need to succeed (yes, please!). There were 3 INCREDIBLY INSPIRING speakers (see below), a bomb.com workshop, a photographer taking head shots and a nail art bar led by me and my friend from nail school, Cathy. She’s the gem that introduced me to Belma, another gem, and the founder of BOULD.

Speakers & Workshops

“Land Your Dream Job” by Jennine LoCastro. Vice President, Burberry (previous VP, Chanel)

“Stop Dreaming, Start Doing! Launch Your Business” by Sashka Rothchild.  Founder, Standbuy

“Build Your Personal Brand” by Michela Aramini. Founder, The Lovely It Girl

“Know Yourself: Success Through Self Awareness” by April Anderson, Global Learning and Development Manager, The Estee Lauder Companies

I had so much fun and can’t wait for more BOULD events! If you’re in the NYC area, I highly recommend you check out BOULD now!

Cynthia Rowley Resort Event!

I had SO much fun doing nails at the Cynthia Rowley store on Bleecker Street in NYC. It was to celebrate her 2015 Resort Collection, so naturally my menu was inspired by a few of the bomb.com patterns.

I died and went to obsession heaven when I arrived at the store and felt, what I thought was going to be textured clothes. Instead, I was greeted by Cynthia’s signature scubalicious, spandexey (hm, this is harder to describe than I thought) clothing. Let’s just say you could do a major workout in these babes–whether it be a drop-waisted dress or a pair of pants-see exhibit A and B below. I just wish you could feel these through the screen! Better yet, do yourself a favor and stop by the nearest CR store by you- click here for a list…or Bloomies!

Exhibit A and B….
Look at all these fun goodies! And THAT ring and THOSE gems on that sweater?! DYYYING.

Counting down to Halloween!

The big day is only 2 days awayyyy! Here are some of my fave designs from the past week, along with an easy peasy dripping blood tutorial!

Dripping Blood Tutorial:

Supplies:
  1.  After applying your base coat, paint 2 coats of your white polish. Wait a few minutes for it to dry.
  2. Using your dotting tool, dot 3 red dots on your nail. Draw two across from each other and one a little farther down the nail, almost creating three points of a triangle–however it doesn’t have to be exact.
  3. Immediately after, take either your dotting tool or the brush from the red polish and drag the polish up from the dot to the tip of the nail.
  4. Use the side of your red polish brush, gently fill in the top of the nail so all “blood lines” connect. If you want, you can add little random specks of red down by the cuticle to give the illusion the big blood drips are dripping little drips. Wait at least 15 minutes before applying your top coat so the blood doesn’t…wait for it…bleed.
